CITY OF SAN FERNANDO Commuters in Balanga City in Bataan can now enjoy free rides on February 7, 8 and 10 aboard electric shuttles.
This after the provincial government partnered with the Global Electric Transport City Optimized Managed Electric Transport group.
The free rides program, according to Governor Jose Enrique Garcia, is part of Capitol's effort to promote an environment-friendly mode of transportation and ease the problem of the public transport system on the high costs of gasoline and diesel.
The pilot run of electric shuttles started last Tuesday and ply the Bataan Peninsula State University main/Bataan National High School-Palaza Mayor de Balanga-Balanga Terminal route.
All the electric shuttles, each with capacity of 30 passengers, are air-conditioned and with provisions for persons with disabilities.
