JobsNext Project launch in Cagayan de Oro

THE City Government and the Philippine Business for Education (PBEd) launched in Cagayan de Oro the JobsNext Project, a training program designed to help youth develop future-ready skills.

During the launch on February 9, 2023, the City Government and PBEd sealed their partnership with the signing of a memorandum of agreement.

City Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy expressed his gratitude to the PBEd and Citi Foundation for offering the youth of Cagayan de Oro an opportunity to learn new skills and competences.

"Thank you for working with us to empower young minds to ensure a promising future. It doesn't matter if they are in or out of school, employed or unemployed. All youth aged 18-25 years old will benefit from JobsNext," Uy said.

PBEd Executive Director Justine Raagas, who is also a Kagay-anon, was thankful to the City Government for always putting the youth and education in its heart.

"The Philippine Business for Education has always been a proud partner of the City Government," Raagas said.

JobsNext is a project implemented by PBEd that seeks to mitigate the negative impacts of Industry 4.0 on the employability of the Philippine labor force by providing industry-relevant, demand-driven, up-to-date, and appropriate skilling programs.

At present, 100 Kagay-an youths were identified to participate in the JobsNext Project, which is composed of training programs provided by Accenture, Microsoft, GO Philippines, Amazon Web Services, PLDT-Smart, ATRIEV, and ASEAN Foundation.
