THE first job fair in Lapu-Lapu City this year will be held at the Outlets at Pueblo Verde in Barangay Basak on Saturday, February 18, 2023.

The event is organized by the Lapu-Lapu City Government through the Public Employment Service Office (Peso), the Department of Labor and Employment in Central Visayas (Dole 7), Aboitiz InfraCapital and the Mactan Economic Zone 2 Estate.

According to Peso head Kim Francisco, 24 companies will be offering 1,472 job openings but since they are still finalizing the number of participants, the jobs available may still go up.

The job fair will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan urged job seekers to visit the job fair.

“Padayon ang atong pagpanghatag og kahigayunan sa mga Oponganon nga makabaton og trabaho (We will continue to provide opportunities for city residents to get a job),” he said. “Akong kagustohan nga ang matag pamilya sa atong syudad adunay desente ug tarong nga trabaho (My wish is for every family in the city to have a decent job).”

Meanwhile, Francisco said the next job fair will take place in the first half of April as part of the Kadaugan sa Mactan calendar of activities. (MKG, PJB)
