PDEA-3 seizes P3.7M kush

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO More than two kilos of suspected high grade marijuana (kush) were intercepted in a controlled delivery operation in Subic Bay Freeport on Monday.

The suspected illegal drugs were seized from a male claimant who was identified as Federico Cesar Flores-Luna alias Nestor Bustamante.

Jigger Juniller, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) - Zambales Chief, said the package containing the illegal drugs emanated from Canada and arrived at the Port of Clark on February 19, 2023.

An inspection was conducted following an information from PDEA’s foreign counterparts relayed to the agency’s International Cooperation and Foreign Affairs Service office, Juniller added.

"The anticipated subject package containing kush was declared as "window curtain" but upon undergoing X-ray and K-9 inspections, it indicated the presence of dangerous drugs,” he said.

The physical examination conducted on the package led to the actual discovery of five pouches of suspected kush.

The suspected illegal drugs weighed a total of 2,336 grams of dried leaves and fruiting tops have an estimated street value of P3,737,60.

The operation was conducted by operatives of PDEA Zambales Provincial Office, Clark Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Clark and Port of Subic.

A charge for violation of Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the apprehended claimant
