CITY OF SAN FERNANDO The newly-opened road inside the Megaworld’s Capital town is seen to ease the traffic congestion in this city’s two major thoroughfares.
Megaworld officially inaugurated on Wednesday night the six-lane, 30-meter-wide road which is part of the Central Avenue and the San Fernando Boulevard that runs inside the township.
The new road directly crosses the Lazatin Boulevard and Capitol Boulevard, bypassing the busy intersection in front of Lelut Baculud in Barangay San Juan.
The opening of the Megaworld’s Main Avenue is timely as the two areas has become traffic bottlenecks due to ongoing repair of the Lazatin Flyover.
Eugene Em Lozano, Megaworld Pampanga senior vice president for sales and marketing, said the inauguration of the portion of the firm's main avenue is a fulfillment of the company’s vision towards development.
“We don’t only develop townships, we also make sure that the community around us also develop and progress along with us,” he said.
Vice Mayor Benedict Jasper Lagman thanked Megaworld for creating a road that will be beneficial not only for Capital Town but also for the Kapampangan people.
“They always say progress equates traffic congestion but Megaworld proved us wrong because they provided road augmentation that will greatly benefit motorists,” he said.
Aside from the road opening, Megaworld also conducted a ground breaking rites for its first office development, the four-storey PASUDECO Tower.
The firm also held a topping-off ceremony for its nearly-completed 14-storey Chelsea Parkplace, Megaworld's first residential condominium development inside Capital Town.
