A DAVAO City councilor has proposed the establishment of an anti-bullying desk in barangays.

This shall be implemented while the creation of an anti-bullying council is still being discussed.

“Basin man gud daw walay maduolan ang ubang victims of bullying, so nag-suggest atong mga kauban nga magbutang ta og office [sa mga barangay] (Victims of bullying might not have someone they can come forward to. So, our colleagues suggested that we put something like an office in barangays),” Davao City Councilor Enzo Villafuerte, Chairperson of the Committee on Civil, Political and Human Rights, said in ambush interview on February 22, 2023 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP).

He said they already talked with the Davao City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) about the proposal.

“We have talked with Atty. Galeo of CSWDO and she is willing to put up an anti-bullying desk sa tanang (in all) district halls para naay maduolan ang mga dili ginatagad na mga bullying sa mga schools, sa mga workplaces (for those bullied victims in schools and workplaces),” he said.

However, he said that this plan might take time as it requires a lot of budget to be implemented.

In 2022, Villafuerte proposed the formation of an Anti-Bullying Council in the city to apprehend bullies, including those who allowed it to happen like school administrators and workplace management. KSD
