MOBILITY app MPT DriveHub has reduced its reloading fees and introduced new payment channels to entice more motorists to download and actively use the app.

At present, MPT DriveHub has more than 30,000 active users. Heavy usage of the app has been noted among Cebuano users, said Gines Barot, assistant vice president of operations at MPT Mobility in an interview Friday, Feb. 24, 2023.

He said Cebuanos use the app for reloading and checking of traffic condition.

“We’ve introduced this app to really make the travel journey fun and seamless,” said Barot. “After installing RFID in your vehicles, we are encouraging motorists to also download and use the MPT DriveHub as their travel companion app.”

During the roundtable discussion, MPT Mobility assistant vice president for business development Donald Saurombe announced that MPT DriveHub has lowered its reloading transaction fees for RFID.

Those who will top up through Maya will pay a one-percent service fee and 1.90 percent if through GCash.

For those looking to reload in larger sums like P1,000 and up, Saurombe said RFID units can be reloaded through Banco de Oro and Unionbank accounts at a service fee of P10.

In few weeks time, RCBC, Metrobank and BPI reloading channels will be made available.

Besides these new payment platforms, new features will also be added to the app in the coming quarters.

Saurombe though declined to disclose what these new apps would be but said the addition would be beneficial to a motorist’s travel experience.

Saurombe added they are also eyeing to roll out a rewards program soon which would have transpo-related features or programs.

Launching

MPT DriveHub was launched on March 1, 2022, coinciding with the opening of the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX). The app positions itself as the driving partner for seamless travels.

The app’s key functions are RFID transactions, trip planning and roadside assistance. It enables its users to easily manage their RFID accounts whether to check their balances or reload their accounts.

The app provides users where the nearest pit stops are for dining, bathroom breaks, gas-ups, or even shopping for last-minute pasalubong and even updates users with relevant traffic advisory and updates.

It also allows users to immediately request for roadside assistance by readily having the expressway hotline number in the app.

The MPT DriveHub app can downloaded for both iOs and Android.

Two-day exhibition

Over the weekend, MPT DriveHub held a two-day grand exhibition in Cebu to give those in the province the opportunity to get to know the MPT DriveHub up close and personal.

Staged on Feb. 24 to 25 at the Il Corso Lifemalls North Parking area, the event featured a photo booth of an inflatable archway, free CCLEX RFID installation site and RFID reloading via the app.

Attendees and passersby enjoyed activities such as a Street Speed Game (an MPT DriveHub- and Cebu-themed edition of Pinoy Henyo) and Drop Your Way to Win (a life-sized Plinko-style game), where players stood a chance to win free RFID load and MPT DriveHub merchandise.

“Providing better mobility solutions to motorists has always been at the core of our work,” said Barot. “We design and implement these solutions with end-users in mind, ensuring that the app features are streamlined to what will be helpful for the majority.“

Last Saturday, Cebu-based personalities Paul Jake Castillo, Divine Lee and Snake Princess graced the event to participate in the Street Speed Game and at the same time shared their experiences using the app.

MPT DriveHub can be used to reload the RFID for all MPTC expressways: CCLEX, North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, NLEX Connector, Cavite-Laguna Expressway, Cavitex or the Manila-Cavite Expressway and Cavitex C5 Link.
