THE City Government of Cagayan de Oro plans to make the food cart section of Cogon Market into a tourist destination.
On February 23, 2023, a Night Market Cogon Food Cart Association was established with Mylene Del Puerto elected as its chairman, Rodrego Selocia as the vice chairman, Luz Salicona as the treasurer, and Marites Jumawan as the auditor.
Possible guidelines were also created, including uniformed stalls or tents, vendors and their workers to wear a t-shirt uniform, installing portalets, no selling of alcoholic beverages, having proper garbage disposal, among others.
Food cart vendors expressed their delight and gratitude to City Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy and requested that they begin wearing their uniforms on March 4.
