"IT'S part of the donation agreement of the property owner at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) not to allow the vendors at the BCGC grounds."

This was stressed by Acting Mayor El Cid Familiaran on Monday, February 27, after the city displayed its park rules and regulations at the BCGC grounds.

Familiaran said the city put up signage at the BCGC grounds to remind the public of the park rules and regulations, including vending in the area.

"The vendors are only allowed to sell at the BCGC grounds if they have a permit or if there are activities," he said.

He added that it’s part of the deed of the donation not to allow vendors on the BCGC grounds.

The park rules and regulations include: alcoholic beverage consumption is prohibited; no selling of merchandise within the park without a permit or concession with the city; no littering; no posting of signs of any kind of commercial advertising without written consent from the city; no performing or rallying, except by permit; smoking is prohibited within the premises of BCGC; no sitting or climbing on the theme "Bacolod," among others.

In the previous months, every afternoon, some vendors were seen selling at the BCGC grounds, while families were also seen eating and having a picnic in the area, but these are not allowed anymore in the area.

Familiaran disclosed that they want to impose the rules and regulations at the BCGC to maintain peace and order in the area.*
