I HAVE been using realme smartphones since 2019. Starting with the realme 5 Pro, each upgrade I got gives me a better experience than the other.

Recently, the leading smartphone brand has released its new mid-range phone with features that make for a reliable phone -- the realme 10 Pro 5G.

I have been using the realme 10 Pro 5G for nearly a month now as a primary phone for work and for blogging. And, it did not disappoint.

Look and design

The realme 10 Pro 5G has a sleek design for a mid-range phone. My smartphone is in a Nebula Blue. What I love about this is it is very easy on the eyes and has somewhat of an understated elegance to it.

In terms of size, the phone has the right size to be comfortably held. I also love how it feels on my palms as it is lighter than my realme 9 Pro Plus.

The realme 10 Pro 5G also features a 6.72” FHD+LCD with a screen-to-body ratio of 93.76 percent. It has also been designed to have bezels as thin as 1mm on the left and right sides, with 1.15mm on the top and 4.2mm when it comes to the chin. The display of the phone really fills the frame and allows a more immersive experience when I stream movies or series.

I also like how the power button and the volume button are all on the right side of the phone.

My only issue with the realme 10 Pro 5G is the camera bump at the back. I find it to be thicker than my previous realme phones. It somehow worries me because, without the casing, which comes with the box when you purchase the phone, it is quite exposed and vulnerable.

Camera

Speaking of the camera, one of the best features of realme smartphones is their good cameras. Their cameras are good enough to take amazing photos that I can use for my blog or for my new features.

The realme 10 Pro 5G is equipped with a 108MP ProLight Camera at the back and a 16MP Centered Hole-Punch front camera. But aside from the powerful phone camera, it is also equipped with:

[] QuickShot Acceleration Engine for faster photo taking at night

[] Parallel Processing for continued rapid captures of shots

[] Intelligent Frame Taking for self-optimization as the camera gets pointed at its intended subject or scene

[] Intention Prediction as the phone can optimize based on its understanding of the intended type of shot (single or continuous) to take to get better results

[] AI Video Tracking that helps determine the main subject when taking videos

With all these features, was I able to get a solid shot? The answer is yes. I love the colors of the pictures and the quality is beyond most phones in its class.

I also love the front cam. I like how I don't look filtered when I take selfies using the front camera.

However, what I am missing from this phone is a wide shot feature, which would be great to capture photos indoors or in small spaces where it can be hard to take a photo.

Display

One of my favorite aspects about the realme 10 Pro 5G and what I immediately noticed when I got the phone was its display. The colors were sharp and scrolling through the phone was smooth.

The phone is equipped with a 120Hz Boundless Display. It has a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz.

The colors on the screen were sharp. I also love watching movies or series on the realme 10 Pro 5G because I find it to be clearer than most.

Performance

For a mid-range phone, realme 10 Pro 5G is a solid phone. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G Processor. It is also backed up by a 6nm Octa-Core Processor with x2 Cortex-A78 Cores and x6 Cortex-A55 Cores.

The smartphone is also equipped with 8GB RAM but can be boosted with up to 16GB RAM with up to an 8GB Dynamic RAM Expansion. The Dynamic RAM Expansion lets the phone use 8GB of internal storage to act as RAM and boost its embedded physical RAM of 8GB.

Working on this phone has been a blast. Mid-range phones usually slow down when you are trying to multitask with work on the phone. But realme 10 5 Pro 5G has proven to support me when I need to catch up with important work. I am able to switch between apps without any problems.

The only times I experienced a bit of a slowdown was when playing some games. However, that is a non-issue for me because I am not into mobile games that much.

The phone also has a generous 256GB storage that allows you to store more files and memories than most phones of its class.

Lastly, the phone is equipped with a 5000mAh Battery. The battery is another thing I love about realme smartphones. It allows me to use it for long hours without having to worry about charging it several times a day.

Its 33W SUPERVOOC Charge also allows me to charge the phone quickly when I needed it to. I have observed that it takes less than an hour for the phone to be fully charged.

Overall

The realme 10 Pro 5G is an extremely reliable phone. As a mid-range phone, it gives you the flagship experience that you do not normally get from phones in the same class.

The phone is a great partner for professionals who are looking for a reliable workhorse. But at the same time, it has various features that also makes it an affordable lifestyle phone.

The realme 10 Pro 5G and the realme 10 Pro+ 5G were recently launched in the Philippines. The realme 10 Pro 5G (8GB+256GB) is currently priced at P16,999 while the realme 10 Pro+ 5G (8GB+128GB) is at P19,999 and the realme 10 Pro+ 5G (12GB+256GB) is at P24,999. RJL
