HEALTH and barangay centers worth P19 million were inaugurated in two barangays in Consolacion town, northern Cebu on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
Mandaue City Lone District Rep. Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon led the turnover of the two structures to officials of Barangays Casili and Tugbungan.
Dizon said that two projects were initiated when she was still the congressional representative of Cebu’s Sixth District from 2019 to 2021.
The two infrastructures that Dizon turned over were multipurpose buildings requested by their barangay officials.
Barangay Casili’s two-story, three-level multipurpose building is worth P9 million and was constructed in two phases.
The building will serve as the barangay’s health center, Dizon added.
Casili’s old health center is currently operating at their barangay hall.
Barangay Tugbungan also received a three-story building through the efforts of Dizon’s office. Tugbungan’s new multipurpose building is worth P10 million and was constructed in 2020.
Dizon said that once fully furnished, the building will serve as Tugbungan’s new barangay hall. Currently, Tugbungan’s barangay hall is situated close to its daycare center.
Along with Ouano-Dizon, representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) 6th Engineering District, Consolacion Mayor Teresa “Nene” Alegado, barangay officials of Casili and Tugbungan attended the event. (PR)
