Japanese creative collaborates with Pinoy artist on ’Otaki’ winning video

OTAKI Town, located in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, held its second short movie contest in November 2022. The competition attracted many film professionals from across Japan who competed for the grand prize.

After careful deliberation, a Japanese musician and filmmaker known as “iwapt” was awarded the top prize on Feb. 21. The winning video is now available on the official Otaki Town YouTube page.

The background music featured in the video was composed by iwapt, and the drums were recorded in Manila, Philippines played by Yeng Constantino and Neocolours drummer Nino Regalado.

The video beautifully captures Otaki Town’s stunning views. Otaki Town is well-known for its colorful autumn leaves, and its abundant clean water and clay soil allow for the growth of high-quality white bamboo shoots. Additionally, the soba and beer made here are of exceptional quality, while the famous blackwater hot spring in the Yoro Valley is known for its excellent skin-beautifying effects.

Otaki Town is approximately 60 minutes away from Tokyo Haneda Airport and nearby Narita Airport. Its town hall also won the 2013 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.

Iwapt has maintained connections with Cebuano artists, and was also featured on “GMA Regional TV Live” on May 17, 2022. Iwapt also guested on radio shows via dyRT 99.5 and dyHP RMN 612. (PR)
