Masantol cop chief ordered to work on peace and order

MASANTOL Maintain a drug-cleared community and work on protection of women and children.

These are the marching orders of Mayor Jose Antonio “Ton-Ton” Bustos to the newly-installed chief of police of this town, Major Brix Pineda.

Bustos made the remark during a recent feeding program for children of Barangay San Nicolas here which is part of the birthday celebration of his father, Patrol Partylist Representative Jorge Bustos.

The Bustos family also donated aircon units, computer sets, office tables and bunk beds to the newly-constructed police station.

“Our police have the full support of the local government and of course, our family. Our only request for them is to ensure that every Masantoleño can live and sleep at night with peace of mind,” Mayor Bustos said.

Pineda assured Bustos that the local police will always be on their toes to serve and protect the people of Masantol.

He also relayed his request to the local government to establish a Balay Silangan as part of the requirement to maintain the town’s drug-cleared status.

Balay Silangan is a rehabilitation facility for drug users who voluntarily surrender to authorities.

Pineda said Bustos have already committed to establish the said facility.

“Ang commitment din namin ay tuparin ang vision ni Mayor Ton-Ton at Congressman Jorge na patuloy na maging tahimik at payapa ang pamumuhay ng mga kabalen natin dito sa Masantol,” said Pineda.
