Portrait of former Guagua town mayor unveiled

GUAGUA Town officials recently led the unveiling of former Mayor Ricardo Rivera's portrait.

Mayor Joseph Athony “Tonton” Torres and other officials of Guagua town led the special event for Rivera in recognition of his stint as a local chief executive and public servant of the town.

The portrait unveiling has been held in front of municipal employees and former mayor Rivera who attended the ceremonies.

The portrait will be hung in the main hall of the municipal building here along with all the portraits of former mayors and distinguished residents of the town.

Before becoming mayor, Rivera served as councilor from 1998 to 2011 and again from 2001 to 2004.

He ran for vice mayor in 2004 and served until 2005.

Rivera succeeded Former Mayor Paterno Magcalas upon the latter’s death in 2005 and served until 2007.

He then ran for mayor in 2007 and won and served until 2010.

Rivera ran and won for reelection in 2010 and served until 2022.

He served again as municipal councilor from 2019 to 2022.
