THE City Transport and Traffic Management Office urged Dabawenyos and visiting tourists in Davao City to get the plate numbers of taxi units or public utility jeepneys they are taking from the airport and the names of the drivers amid reports that some drivers do not give proper change to their passengers.

CTTMO Head Dionisio Abude, in an interview over the Davao City Disaster Radio on Wednesday, March 2, 2023, said that they already coordinated with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to widely disseminate this information.

“Nakig-alayon ta sa LTFRB para mahibal-an sa tanan ang mga bus, puj, and taxi ug para pud nga mahibal-an unsa buhaton sa mga pasahero nga sumasakay (We have already coordinated with LTFRB so that this will be relayed to all buses, PUJ, and taxi. So that passengers will also be informed on what they should do),” he said.

Abude said that it is important for any passenger to take pictures of the plate number, and body number of the taxi so it could easily be traced by the taxi company.

“Bisan dili makuha ang body number, makahibalo lang ka kung kinsa ang nagparehistro sa sakyanan para madali sa LTFRB, matumbok nila og masummonan dayon ang driver (Every if you cannot take a picture of the body number, it is enough that you will provide details so that the LTFRB can validate and summon the driver immediately),” he said, adding that corresponding fees with cancellation and revocation of the franchise as the highest penalty for violation of traffic rules will be imposed.

The QR Code in PUV IDs may also be scanned for the driver’s information. This information may be sent to the LTFRB and CTTMO through the following hotline numbers: for LTFRB XI—LTFRB-XI: 297 2525/297-0181/296-7866/ 09093711060/ 09064966852, CTTMO– 298-3602, SMART: 0960-867-9384, GLOBE: 0995-421-3525.

“Importante nga mabal-an sa atoang mga bisita sa atong mga sumasakay taga-Davao, kung dunay mga problema or naay mga complaints bahin aning attitude ug behavior sa atong mga driver dili lang guro sa taxi tanan nga siguro sa mga PUJ pwede nila i-reklamo aning among gihatag nga mga number para ma sumonan diretso ni sa LTFRB dili lang driver pati ang operator,” Abude said.

(It is important that the visitors and passengers report if there are problems or complaints about the attitude and behavior of our drivers, not only of taxis but all PUJs and that they can report to the numbers provided so that the LTFRB can summon, not only the driver but the operator as well.)
