Firm sold over 100K tickets to and from PH in 2022; eyes to add 250 more employees at Cebu office

TREVOLUTION Group, the travel arm of Dyninno Group of Companies, reported that it sold over 105,000 tickets to and from the Philippines in 2022, up 457 percent against 2022 records.

Trevolution Group provides products and services in the finance, travel and entertainment sectors. It operates International Travel Network, Asaptickets, Skyluxtravel, Aviajet and other travel brands.

“Over the years, tourists from all over the world come to visit the Philippines. The country has been one of the top destination spots for travelers around the already pre-Covid. 2023 is the first full year since the Philippines reopened. The growing demand now only shows the travel confidence. The country seems to accommodate the growing demand, too. The Philippines is looking to double tourist arrivals and aims to reach five million tourists in 2023 (compared to 2.6 million last year),” said Peter Vazan, executive vice president of Industry Relations of Trevolution Group.

“Thanks to the significant demand for travel between the United States and Philippines, driven by the 4.2 million Filipino-Americans, we have focused on entering and securing our position in the Filipino market. Our various brands have been offering affordable quality services to thousands of customers each month,” Vazan added.

The top Filipino destinations from US airports in 2022 were Manila, Cebu, Laoag, Mabalacat and Davao. In turn, most passengers originated from Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago and Honolulu. The average round-trip economy ticket between the US and the Philippines was priced at US$1,300.

Banking on the Philippines’ target of five million foreign tourists this year, Trevolution Group said it has been leveraging its marketing capabilities to promote the Philippines as a tourist destination.

“There is immense scope in the Philippines for tourism development and Trevolution Group is elated to contribute to the national goal of increasing tourist arrivals in the country,” the company said.

In 2022, Trevolution Group issued more than 700,000 tickets globally, or 74 percent more than during the previous year. Gross bookings of the company reached $936 million.

Hiring in Cebu

Trevolution Group, which incorporates the travel businesses of the Dyninno Group of Companies, has been operating in the Philippines since 2012, after it launched an office in Cebu.

Following the rapid growth in its headcount, a second office was later opened in Manilla.

Currently, the company employs over 1,000 employees.

In a virtual interview, Vazan announced that Dyninno is hiring 250 more employees in Cebu this year to support the expected robust growth in tourism and travel industry.

Vazan said the additional employees will augment the need for more staff that will handle travel-related concerns these days like flight rescheduling, among others .

“With airlines changing their flight schedules, shortage of pilots, weather issues and other concerns, this requires a lot of manpower to handle these things. We want to make sure that things are smooth for our customers,” said Vazan.

“We need a lot of people to handle the job -- to communicate with the customers, agents, or real people to communicate with our clients. We need people who are in charge and leaders that understand the business,” he added.

Over 70,000 airline tickets and vacation packages are sold by the companies under the Trevolution Group brand monthly, which makes it the fifth-largest travel consolidator in the US.
