Bulawanong Parada kicks off Bulawan Festival 2023

THE much-awaited golden festivity, the Bulawan Festival celebration in Davao de Oro, kicked off Monday morning, March 6, with a grand motorcade and float parade along the streets of Brgy. Poblacion, going to the Provincial Capitol, Barangay Cabidianan in Nabunturan town.

Bearing the theme, "Davao de Oro Goes Silver: 25 Ka Tuig Nga Mapasalamatong Pagpangalagad", the parade featured decorated floats and motorcades participated by various groups from the national, provincial, and municipal government, security, and business sectors wearing different colored Bulawan shirts.

Right after the parade, an opening program was held at the Mega Tent, Capitol Grounds where LYR Chairman Lorenzo Rubinos Sr. served as keynote speaker while Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga officially opened the 3-day festivities.

An awarding ceremony was also held for the winners of the six-category 1st Gov. DotDot Gonzaga Shooting Competition, which was held last February 25-26 and was participated by 108 personnel from various security sectors in Davao Region.

Meanwhile, the crowd was entertained by the Capitol Dancers, Coro de Davao de Oro, and the Nabunturan National Comprehensive High School (NNCHS) Performing Arts Guild. The opening ceremony was followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Trade Expo, Food Park, and Furniture Fair.

The Bulawan Festival is an annual celebration of thanksgiving for a unified government, abundant resources, and the promise of a golden future for every Dabawenyos. (PR)
