IT was a memorable first weekend of the Araw ng Dabaw celebration as two of the biggest OPM bands in the country performing for their Dabawenyo fans.
On Sunday, March 5, Sponge Cola and Mayonnaise rocked the night out with “Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay, Jopay” concert at the University of Southeastern Philippines (Usep) gymnasium.
Yael Yuzon and the rest of the Sponge Cola performed some of their biggest hits including "Bitiw", "Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay", "Tuliro", and the APO Hiking Society classic "Nakapagtataka."
Meanwhile, Mayonnaise, led by Monty Macalino, capped off the concert with their chart-topping songs such as "Tayo Na Lang Dalawa", "Torres", "Kapag Lasing Malambing", and their viral hit song, which is making the waves on the Billboard Philippines Songs chart "Jopay."
The concert, organized by Flow Asia, is one of the biggest concerts in the city since the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions were relaxed
Other bands also performed during the night such as Libre, a newly formed band by Kevin Hermosada of Team Payaman. Team Payaman is a group of vloggers from Metro Manila with over 38 million subscribers collectively.
Aside from the bands, local DJs have also performed on stage as well.
Davao-based bands and performers Nairud, Isla Riddim, and Playertwo also performed onstage.
