THE 11th Infantry "Alakdan" Division (ID) joined the Philippine Army-wide Simultaneous Tree Planting Activity dubbed as “Raising One Million Fruit Bearing Trees Project” on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

The Alakdan Division joined the activity through tree planting activity Mampallam village, Talipao, Sulu.

A total of 7,927 seedlings were planted in various areas in Sulu by the different units of the 11ID, in collaboration with the local government units, Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (Mafar)-Sulu, academe, youth, security sectors, and other partner stakeholders.

Major General Ignatius Patrimonio, commander of the 11ID and Joint Task Force-Sulu, expressed his gratitude to the partner stakeholders for making the event possible.

“This event may be simple but it can have a great impact in the future generation.

“I urged all of you then to make the most out of it and do the tree planting activity with the sense of its purpose. Maximize and enjoy the activity. Together we make a difference," Patrimonio ended.

The tree planting activity is part of the 126th Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Army on March 22, 2023.

It is also in line with the environmental protection and food security program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. (SunStar Zamboanga)
