BACOLOR Women empowerment.
This was the call of scores of Pampanga-based women journalists who gathered on Tuesday at Diosdado Restaurant here to celebrate National Women’s Month.
The gathering was spearheaded by CLTV36 President and General Manager Sonio Soto, and Pampanga Press Club Chairperson and Philippine Daily Inquirer Correspondent Tonette Orejas.
This is said to be the first event to convene around 30 Kapampangan women who are affiliated in different media outlets.
During the activity, Soto led a discussion on the roles of women in media, particularly in promoting gender equality in delivering news.
She urged Kapampangan media workers, especially young bloods, to always champion women empowerment amidst a profession that is dominated by males.
Women’s right advocate, Lawyer Virginia Suarez, lauded women workers of media who continue to rise amidst the challenges in the workplace.
The historic gathering was made possible through the support of Governor Dennis Pineda and Romac Group Chairman Rene Romero.
Beautederm Corporation, Villa Rosa, Edna’s Cakeland, and Skin Glow Beauty also showed support to the gathering.
