HIGH-RANKING members of the Communist Terrorists Group (CTG) were arrested by government troops in Purok 2, Barangay Kauswagan in Cabadbaran City.

The military identified the rebels as Gabriel Rebucas Sagay, alias Roxan/Onemig and Regie Amora Ligan alias Kylie/Kyle/Kihod, a members of Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda 21C, Guerilla Front 21, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee (SYP21C, GF21, NEMRC).

According to Lieutenant Colonel Cresencio Gargar, the commanding officer of the 29th Infantry Battalion (29IB), the law enforcement operation served the warrant of charges of multiple attempted homicides and attempted murder for the said rebels.

Recovered from the arrested rebels were one 0.45mm caliber rock island with live ammunition, one .9mm caliber Tauros with chamber load live ammunition, a blasting cap with detonating cord, five pieces of elongated heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected as Shabu, three disposable lighter and cash amounting to one thousand pesos.

"Those apprehended personalities have hampered the development of Agusan del Norte due to their terroristic activities," Gargar said.

"This accomplishment is the result of the joint efforts of the troops and intensified intelligence operations. I advised them to encourage and convince their former comrades to peacefully surrender, abandon their arms struggle, and avail the socio-economic programs and livelihood assistance offered by the government and be able to live with their families and go back to the mainstream of society," he added.
