BACOLOD Public Employment and Services Office (PESO) successfully hosted two job fairs on March 13, 2023, at Brgy. Villamonte and La Consolacion College (LCC), respectively. The events were aimed at helping job seekers find employment opportunities and employers find qualified workers.
The Villamonte Job Fair attracted 24 companies and 108 applicants, resulting in 14 applicants being hired on the spot. Meanwhile, the LCC job fair drew in 271 hopefuls, with three applicants hired on the spot and several others recommended for further interviews.
As the city moves forward, Bacolod PESO has organized more job fairs on March 21 and 25, 2023, at SM City Bacolod and Brgy. Singcang-Airport, respectively. The upcoming job fairs are expected to be more exciting, as overseas placement agencies are joining the hunt for skilled workers. In addition, interested applicants may visit the YUHUM PABAHAY WORKFORCE table, a flagship program of Mayor Albee, which aims to provide homes for the 15,000 ISFs of Bacolod and help job-seeking Bacolodnons.
With the success of the recent job fairs, Bacolod PESO hopes to continue bridging the gap between employers and job seekers, contributing to the city's economic growth and helping Bacolodnons secure employment.* (PR)
