Cebuano guard Reinhard Jumamoy has been named the UAAP Boys' Basketball Most Valuable Player for his scintillating play for the National University Nazareth School this season.

Jumamoy, a 5-foot-11 floor general and an NU-commit, totaled a remarkable 102.5 statistical points (SP) – far ahead of his competitors. He achieved this by amassing 253 points, 136 rebounds, 97 assists, 39 steals, and eight blocks during the 14-game elimination round.

Although Jumamoy's outstanding performance was not enough to carry his team to the finals, he was recognized for his exceptional achievement in a ceremony prior to Game Two.

"First of all, nagpapasalamat ako kay Lord dahil unexpected itong blessing ito. Nagpapasalamat din ako sa tiwala ng coaches namin, kung wala sila, hindi ko ito makukuha. Yung family ko rin, since day one, hindi nila ako iniwan," said Jumamoy, who also had a league-record four triple-doubles this season.

Jumamoy, 19, has been with NUNS since his formative years. And he is just glad to cap his high school run with the top individual award in the league.

"I'm super happy kasi hindi basta-basta makuha yung ganitong achievement. Madami din ako sacrifices, lalo na sa family," added Jumamoy.

Joining Jumamoy in the Mythical Five, which recognizes the top five players of the season, are Ateneo High School's Kristian Porter (91.846 SPs), Far Eastern University-Diliman's Johnrey Pasaol (85.143), University of the Philippines Integrated School's Kobe Demisana (83.643), and De La Salle Zobel's Rhyle Melencio (81.429).

Porter, a Grade 11 big man out of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, averaged 19.77 points, 14.92 rebounds, 2.92 assists, 1.69 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game for the Blue Eagles.
