THE Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles took a step closer toward the national high school title as they crushed the Mapua Red Robins, 90-75, on Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Mall of Asia Arena to move to the semifinals of the 2023 Smart-NBTC National Finals Division 1.
The victory places the Magis Eagles on a collision course with either the National University squad of UAAP MVP Reinhard Jumamoy or the Delta. The semifinals will be on Saturday, March 18, at the same venue.
Cesafi MVP and Gilas Youth standout Jared Bahay was unstoppable as he scored 31 points, highlighted by eight three-pointers. Wingman Michael Asoro put up 20 markers, while Raffy Celis continued his fine play with a double-double of 17 points and 10 boards.
Sean Salvador paced Mapua with 26 points in the loss. (JNP)
