DAVAO City Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) Head said the Parada Dabawenyo 2023 was successful and no untoward incidents were reported.

“Very successful siya and ang kalami ato kay target nato nga before 12 noon na-hit gyud nato (we were able to meet our target of ending before 12 noon),” Angel Sumagaysay, PSSO head, said in an interview with SunStar Davao on March 19, 2023.

“Hapsay kaayo ang parada tungod very clear ang exit area wala niingon nga nabara ug ma-delay ang nagsunod, so tuloy-tuloy sila didto [San Pedro Street] (The Parada was well coordinated because we really have a very clear exit area and contingents were not delayed),” he said.

A total of 277 contingents and around 15,000 individuals joined the Parada Dabawenyo 2023.

He added that although there are reported incidents of fainting, these were isolated cases.

“Gamay ra kaayo, tungod sa kainit but wala gyud giingon nga gidala sa hospital naa man atoang mga medical team along the road tapos naa pud diha sa may Rizal Park so nahatagan dayon og first aid (There were a few who fainted becasue of the heat. But there was no need to bring them to the hospital. The medical team stationed at the Rizal Park was able to give them first aid),” he said.

He added that Dabawenyos were also very cooperative.

“Nagapasalamat ta sa mga tao gyud nga nag-cooperate para mahimong successful atong event (We thank all Dabawenyos and visitors and the security cluster team that cooperated with us to make this event successful),” he said. KSD
