The City of Bacolod invites all jobseekers to participate in the upcoming job fair organized by its Public Employment Service Office (Peso) in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). Over 7,000 vacancies are waiting to be filled by employers and overseas employment agencies who will be accepting applications and conducting interviews. Lucky jobseekers may even have the opportunity to be hired on the spot.
Peso Manager Jovelyn Canoy encourages the public to take advantage of this opportunity. She said that the Job Fair aims to help job seekers apply to several companies of their choice in one convenient location to save on time, costs, and effort on the part of the applicants. "Helping Bacolodnons be employed is a mandate of Mayor Albee Benitez for Peso, and this job fair is just one of the many recurring recruitment events we have prepared for the public," she said.
This job fair is open to all unemployed, skilled, and unskilled workers, fresh graduates, graduates of training institutions, displaced workers, and employees seeking advancement. Peso's vacancies cover retail, sales and advertising, manufacturing and production, domestic services, health and wellness, construction and engineering, machinery, finance, BPOs, the marine industry, and medical/ healthcare professionals, among other sectors.
Overseas employment agencies are looking to fill over 2,000 vacancies for nurses and midwives, dental technicians, engineers, salons and spa therapists, beauticians, heavy equipment and machine operators, construction and related jobs, housekeeping attendants, restaurant workers, cooks, teachers, seafarers, and many more.
On the other hand, the Philippine Army is looking to enlist at least 800 vacancies! Members of the Philippine Army are entitled to competitive pay and allowances, healthcare benefits, and other opportunities for career development.
Job applicants should bring their resumes or biodata and come in the appropriate attire they would wear for a job interview.
