CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The province of Pampanga is set to convene its Provincial Tourism Council after almost three years due to the pandemic.
This following the recommendation of Pampanga Tourism officers during their regular consultative meeting with the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Tourism chairman Krizzanel "Win-Win" Garbo and Committee on Arts and Culture chairman Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab.
Garbo said she will oversee the convening of the council to further pursue the province's tourism goals.
She mentioned in particular the province's identity as culinary capital of the country.
The Provincial Tourism Council will be convened through an executive order issued by Governor Dennis Pineda.
The governor is the chairperson of the council which is in charge of drawing up tourism programs and plans for the province.
Board Member Pineda expressed support for the master plan. She said that the enabling legislation may be drawn up from the plan to further strengthen the tourism sector in Pampanga.
A list of the tourism council members is expected to be drawn up soon for the governor's approval.
The council is expected to convene by March 31.
