Infrastructure damage in DavOro due to quake now at P274M

INFRASTRUCTURAL damage in Davao de Oro has now reached P274 million following recent series of earthquakes.

In a recent report of the Davao de Oro Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO-Davao de Oro) on March 19, 2023, total infrastructure damage incurred now reached P274,053,961 affecting 229,647 families or 779,918 individuals and 194,057 households. This report covers earthquakes that struck on February 1, and March 7 to 8, 2023 (M7) quakes.

With the incurred damage, P74,200,000 were health facilities damage — Davao de Oro Provincial Hospital in Pantukan (DdOPH- Pantukan) incurred P1.2 million, DdOPH-Laak reported P5 million worth of damage, DdOPH- Montevista reported P1 million worth of damage and P65 million from the previous quake on February 1, and DdOPH Maragusan reported P2 million.

Also, a total of 33 health facilities were damaged — 22 health centers were damaged on February 1 and another 11 on March 7 to 8.

PDRRMO- Davao de Oro reported that a total of 16 roads were damaged, including eight bridges and culverts.

Also, a total of 465 government centers were damaged — 280 in the February 1 earthquake and 185 in the March 7 to 8 quake.

Aside from the government centers, there were also 283 school buildings that were damaged — 163 damaged infrastructure in the February 1 quake while 119 were on March 7 to 8.

Meanwhile, the total cost of damage to houses has now reached P70,009,000 with 5, 441 houses — 894 houses was totally damaged while 4, 547 partially damaged.

Due to damaged houses, a total of 9,873 families were displaced - 5,822 in February 1 quake and 4,051 in the March 7 to 8 quake. KSD
