CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- More than 1,000 cancer patients from various cities and municipalities in the province received cash and food assistance during a simple ceremony dat the Lubao Gym, Tuesday.
This is a joint project of the provincial government of Pampanga and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD),
Each beneficiary received P2,000 from the DSWD and P1,000 food packs from the provincial government.
Governor Dennis "Delta" Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia "Nanay" Pineda, Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, and Lubao Mayor Esmie Pineda led the event.
“Tuluy-tuloy pa rin po ang tulong ng provincial government sa inyo, isa po kayo sa nananatili pa ring prayoridad namin sa mga programa ng Kapitolyo,” Governor Pineda said.
Vice Governor Pineda reminded the Kapampangans to immediately see specialists when they feel early signs of illness, especially cancer.
“Malaking tulong po ito, lalung-lalo na sa gamot ng asawa ko sa araw-araw. Tulad ngayon, sa barangay lang kami umaasa, kaya kahit paano’y masasabi naming malaking tulong ito,” Thomas Pangan, a husband to a cancer patient said during the event.
