THE Joint Task Force (JTF)-Sulu in collaboration with the Sulu provincial government has constructed the first-ever Sulu Golf Driving Range in Zamboanga Peninsula.

The Sulu Golf Driving Range, which was inaugurated on Monday, March 20, 2023, is located in Tagbak village, Indanan, Sulu.

Major General Ignatius Patrimonio, JTF-Sulu and 11th Infantry "Alakdan" Division commander, said the project is a testament to how far they had accomplished their desire to achieve peace in Sulu.

“It is not just a recreational area, but it will send a strong message that indeed the province had successfully overcome the peace and security challenges,” Patrimonio said.

“This project become a reality because of the unending support of the Sulu provincial government and the community,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sulu Governor Abdusakur Tan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the military for initiating the implementation of the project.

“I am very proud that we make use of this property for the good of the community and the province. It will improve the image of Sulu and serve as an indicator that peace is truly reigning in the province,” Tan said.

“I am also grateful to our partners from the security sector for the improved security situation in the province. Congratulation on this endeavor,” he added.

The inauguration of the Sulu Golf Driving Range was witnessed by the different local chief executives of the municipalities of Sulu and partner stakeholders. (SunStar Zamboanga)
