IT’S already March, but the performance-based bonus (PBB) of Capitol employees is still uncertain due to a lack of guidelines from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Renelo Lastierre, president of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE), said Tuesday, March 21.

Lastierre clarified that the provincial government has been ready with the funds for the PBB, which was supposed to be released in December last year.

"Actually, when the union officials paid a courtesy call on the governor, he told us that they are waiting for the joint circular of the DBM and the Civil Service Commission and that Capitol has been ready to release it to the employees," Lastierre said.

PBB is 60 to 65 percent of the basic salary of every employee.

"We understand that there is an impediment if the government has no basis or guidelines," Lastierre added.

He also said there are a lot of nitty-gritty details, like the target they set for every local government unit.

Entitled to receive the PBB are regular and contractual employees.*
