MOST people love to visit various tourist attractions and destinations in the country and abroad.

The right choice of transportation and hotel accommodation should be a priority to fulfill a leisurely-packed vacation, a business trip, or a trip induced by necessity.

It is the thrust of the Department of Tourism to boost the travels of Filipinos all over the Philippines and even abroad now that the pandemic has diminished its impact on travel and people’s health.

And these improved conditions made the skies clear and bright anew for airlines like Cebu Pacific, which just celebrated its 27th anniversary on March 19-20 at the Fili Hotel, Nustar Resort and Casino in Cebu City.

The celebration was attended by Department of Tourism (DOT) central office director Judilyn Quiachon, Charles Co, president of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., Cebu Pacific Chief Marketing and Customer Experience officer Candice Iyog, Riza Macaibay of DOT-7, and Alfred Reyes, president of the Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Association of Cebu.

Miss World 2013 Megan Young and her husband, Mikael Daez, Binibining Pilipinas 2018 Supranational Jezha Mae Huelar Simon, social media influencers, and some mainstream media practitioners from various regions also attended the event.

Cebu Pacific Chief Marketing and Customer Experience officer Candice Iyog said the leading carrier aims to exceed by 129 percent its Cebu hub’s pre-pandemic network and capacity in June as the airline raises to 28 its combined domestic and international routes operating in Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA).

It will start operating daily direct flights between Cebu and Taipei starting June 23, increasing its network from MCIA to a total of 23 domestic and five international destinations. It will also ramp up its flight frequencies to eleven destinations from Cebu.*
