THE Metro Cebu-Flexicrete and the Sugbu-Max Bond topped their respective opponents in the semifinals to forge a finals showdown in the Cebu Architects Basketball Club Buildrite Cup last Sunday at the Benedicto College gym in Mandaue City.

Metro Cebu-Flexicrete took down the top-seeded Datu Lapu-Lapu-Sapal, 86-79, while the Sugbu-Max Bond toppled the Cebu-Sinclair Paint, 86-77. The two victorious squads will battle for the championship in a one-game finale this Sunday at the same venue.

Michael Cinco had 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead Flexicrete’s romp toward the finals. The game was close, as Flexicrete held a 58-57 lead heading to the last canto but fatigue and Flexicrete’s firepower proved the difference down the stretch.

Jason Cinco added 18 points and six boards, while Ferdinand Tiro had 12 markers.

In the other semis affair, Max Bond proved steadier down the stretch as they held off Sinclair Paint’s comeback attempt to book their ticket to the finals. Criz Matunog sizzled from the outside, making seven triples to end up with a game-high 23 points to lead Max Bond to the final round.

Dexsel Caadan added 17 points on a perfect 7-of-7 shooting clip, while Chester Hinagdanan filled the stat sheet up with 15 points, four boards, five assists, and three steals.
