THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has rescheduled the filing of certificates of candidacy (COC) for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) to August 28 until September 2, Commissioner George Garcia said on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
“We reset the filing of COCs for Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections from July 3 to 7 to August 28 to September 2,” said Garcia.
Senator Francis Tolentino earlier urged the Comelec to delay the COC filing to prevent election-related violence as well as early politicking and help local governments perform well ahead of the BSKE elections in October. (SunStar Philippines)
