Groundbreaking ceremony for Himoga-an bridges in Sagay City

A GROUNDBREAKING ceremony for the construction of the 90 ln.m Himoga-an (Brgy. Puey) Bridge III and the ceremonial turnover for the construction of the 120 ln.m Himoga-an Bridge took place last March 22. The event was attended by Vice Mayor Bebo Cueva, Governor Eugenio Bong Lacson, and other government officials.

During the ceremony, Vice Mayor Bebo Cueva expressed his gratitude to be a part of this momentous occasion. He thanked the Department of Agriculture - Philippine Rural Development Project, the World Bank, the provincial government of Negros Occidental, and the Local Government of Sagay for their contributions to the project.

This infrastructure project is expected to greatly impact the lives of the community, particularly in terms of providing food security. The new bridge will benefit almost 20,000 people from different communities, farmers, and students. It will provide safe and efficient access to transportation, commerce, and education, which are crucial to the socio-economic development of the city. Moreover, it will reduce travel time, increase productivity, and improve the livelihood of the people.

The event was attended by various government officials, including Engr. Jose Albert A. Barrogo, Engr. Dennis Sido, Engr. Marion Tagle, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, Mayor Narciso "Narwin" Javelos, Vice Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva, and City Councilors. Also present were representatives from the Department of Education and different LGU departments.
