IN AN act of community service, Cebu’s Ayer’s Lechon turned over a customer's lost money on February 22, 2023, at its Mango Avenue branch.

The management of the local food outlet with general manager Mandy Carlos at its helm, turned over P20,000 worth of cash that was left on January 10, 2023, by Kim Kyle Buendia. Restaurant cashier Mary-Ann Jumao-as found the envelope of cash and gave it to the management for safekeeping.

Buendia, who works as a barangay councilor, admitted that the money was for his involvement in the Sinulog parade. He was disheartened when he realized he misplaced the money. "It was intended for Barangay Labangon's involvement in the Sinulog float. When I realized I didn't have it with me, I immediately thought it was stolen. I never thought I'd have the chance to get it back."

Buendia expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the staff responsible for returning his valued possession. "I didn't expect to have the money returned to me given that it was quite a hefty amount. But with the honesty and integrity of Ayer's Lechon - Mango Avenue's staff, I was able to get my money back. I'm glad because I honestly needed the money."

The uptown branch's general manager claimed that the staff conducted several investigations after taking hold of the lost money. Carlos shared: "We retraced the steps of Buendia thoroughly and made sure the money was safe while we tried to locate him."

The general manager voiced out that as a local food establishment, one of its goals is to ensure a relationship built on trust with its customers. As a local food establishment, it aims to live by its core values of honesty and integrity to give its customers the best service possible. (SPONSORED CONTENT)
