A TOTAL OF 24 job applicants were hired-on-the-spot during the Job Fair held as one of the highlights of the Women’s Fair and Conferences, at the KCC Mall de Zamboanga on Monday, March 27, 2023.

The Public Employment Service Office (Peso) said in a statement Tuesday, March 28, that 11 others were near hired and were required to submit additional requirements to formalize their employment.

Facilitated by Peso, the day-long job fair made available a total of 806 vacant positions for the participating companies – KCC Mall de Zamboanga, Budgetwise, Great Hands, Filinvest, 3ME Manpower Services, and Sophia Jewelry, among others.

Peso said that a total of 161 applicants were interviewed, of which 154 were qualified.

It added the job fair was part of the Women’s Fair and Conferences, held in line with the Women’s Month celebration this March.

The Women’s Fair and Conferences opened in Monday, March 27, and will run until March 30 at the KCC Mall de Zamboanga.

The activities during the fair and conferences include free services related to health, civil registration, legal services and clinic and police services and help desk, and conferences, exhibits and demonstrations.

The activity was organized by the City Government through the Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System and GAD Services of the Office of the City Mayor in collaboration with the Local Council of Women and other government and non-government organizations. (SunStar Zamboanga)
