IN a bid to promote and expand local businesses through franchising, the Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) will have its free three-day regional expo starting today, March 30 to April 1 at SM Lanang Atrium.

The PFA will open today Franchise Negosyo para sa Davao, which will feature seminars, business matching, and exhibits from over 60 Davao Region-based and national-based franchises.

“This (expo) is for them (Dabawenyos) to learn the basics of franchising and if franchising is for them as well” Kat Jereza, Project Officer of PFA said in a press conference Tuesday, March 28.

Jereza said the expo will also feature seminars for participants in starting their businesses through franchising. They also welcome businesses who would want to learn how to franchise from other chief executive officers.

“Applying a franchise has a 90 percent success rate over starting your business from scratch,” Jereza said in a press conference.

Jereza encouraged new entrepreneurs to consider owning a franchise. She calls investing in a franchise “a duplication of success for existing businesses”.

“Franchising is duplicating a success for business already so that’s the brand that you will be acquiring is already proven to be successful... so if you will be acquiring it, meron ka nang (you will have a) manual, not just a manual but a partner,” Jereza said.

Jereza said the registration is free during the event and potential participants may also register through their website https://www.pfa.org.ph/event-details/davaoexpo. ICE
