Floridablanca folks get 90K tilapia fingerlings

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO Fishermen in Floridablanca town recently received livelihood assistance from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region III (BFAR-3).

Some 90,000 tilapia fingerlings were given to 11 local fish growers in said town as part of the bureau’s input assistance program.

BFAR Pampanga Provincial Fisheries Officer Nico Wamil and Dispersal Unit Coordinator Mark Estrada, said the program aims to improve the production and boost local fishermen livelihood.

They added that the fingerlings were sourced from the BFAR Technology Outreach Station for Fresh Water.

Floridablanca Municipal Agriculturist Myrna De Vera thanked BFAR for their support to the town’s fishing industry.

She also expressed the local government’s commitment to ensure the welfare of fisherfolks.
