PB okays P163M contracts for security services

THE Cebu Provincial Board has approved P163.18 million worth of contracts for security services over a two-year period.

Board Member Raul Bacaltos of Cebu’s first district passed two resolutions during their regular meeting on March 27, 2023, allowing Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia to enter into a contract with Café Security Agency Inc. and Tactical Security Agency Inc.

The Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) declared the two agencies as the winners of the bid through Resolution 20, series of 2023 and Resolution 21, series of 2023, respectively.

Café Security Agency was awarded the P77.253 million contract to look after the 21 properties of the provincial government in the southern part of Cebu.

Tactical Security Agency got the P85.928 million contract to manage 25 sites in the Capitol.

Among the 46 properties owned by the Cebu Provincial Government are the Capitol building, Legislative building, Cebu North Bus Terminal, Cebu South Bus Terminal, district hospitals and the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City.

“After a careful review and perusal of the relevant documents forwarded to this August body by the Bids and Awards Committee, through the Office of the Secretary to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, on March 17, 2023, the same are found to be in order. The draft Contract Agreement between the Province of Cebu and Café Security Agency, Inc., is hereby made an integral part of this Resolution,” reads a portion of Bacaltos’ resolution. (PAC, TPT)
