COTABATO CITY - Datu Hoffer Mayor Bai Bongbong Ampatuan strongly condemned the attack by armed men on a family in Maguindanao del Sur at 7 p.m. on March 27, 2023.
Ampatuan has ordered the police to launch an in-depth investigation into the incident that may be related to a family fight.
The father and his two daughters were killed while the mother and two others were injured.
The deceased were identified as Sadam Mamasainged and his children Hanafia, three years old, and their eight-month-old baby Hamdi.
Meanwhile, the mother, Faira, and two other minors, Aima, and Baimona were reportedly injured in the attack.
Datu Hoffer chief of Police, Captain Ramillo Serame, revealed that the victims were riding a Payong-payong motorcycle from the central part of Datu Hoffer who were going back to their residence.
But when the family arrived in Sitio Bagurot, Barangay Tuayan Mother, which is just near their house, they were suddenly attacked by unknown armed men using M14 and M16 Armalite rifles.
The injured victims were brought to the Maguindanao Provincial Hospital. EEF
