A MAN was shot dead in the early hours of Sunday, April 9, 2023.

The victim was identified as 26-year-old John Angelo Bantilo, who resided in Sitio Kalubihan, Barangay Sambag 2, Cebu City.

According to Master Sergeant Alexander Terado, investigator of the Abellana Police Station, Bantilo was walking in the barangay when a man approached him and shot him several times at 2:35 a.m.

The gunman, who has yet to be identified, then fled in the direction of B. Rodriguez Street.

Members of the Scene of the Crime Operation recovered five empty shells of an undetermined firearm from the crime scene.

Police are looking at several motives behind Bantilo’s murder, including the victim’s possible involvement in the illegal drug trade. (BBT)
