CLOSE to 5,000 jobs await jobseekers, as the Public Employment Services Office (Peso) in Mandaue City will hold a “local and international” job fair on April 29, 2023.

Musoline Suliva, head Peso-Mandaue, told reporters on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, that the activity will be held at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Suliva said they expected thousands of applicants, as 33 local and four overseas companies have signified interest in participating in the job fair.

He said among the vacancies are for production and mall workers, nurses, carpenters and call center agents, among others.

“Para katong way trabaho, maka trabaho kay giingon ni Mayor (Jonas Cortes) nga kung mulambo na ang Mandaue kung dili mapugngan, wala untay sector sa siyudad ang mabilin labi na ang mga taw nga nanginahanglan,” Suliva said.

(So those who are unemployed can find job, because as what Mayor Jonas Cortes had said, no one will be left behind as the city progresses.)

Peso-Mandaue holds at least four job fairs in a year.

During its July 23, 2022 job fair, which was held at Insular Square in Barangay Tabok, Peso-Mandaue recorded at least 1,726 registered applicants, of which 1,050 were hired.

The event on April 29 will be Peso’s first job fair for 2023.

Suliva said they are set to conduct other job fairs on June 24, August 19, and October 14. (HIC)
