MORE than 1,600 job openings will be offered during the second job fair this year in Lapu-Lapu City Friday, April 14, 2023.
Kim Francisco, head of the city’s Public Employment Service Office (Peso), told SunStar Cebu Thursday, April 13, that there will be 39 participating companies offering 1,689 job vacancies at The Outlets in Pueblo Verde, MEZ 2 in Barangay Basak.
The job fair is local and is part of the month-long activities in relation to the Kadaugan sa Mactan this April.
Francisco said they are targeting to have at least 16 percent that will be hired on the spot among the vacancies.
The job fair will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The activity is organized by the City Government, through Peso and the Department of Labor and Employment-Central Visayas, Aboitiz InfraCapital and Mactan Economic Zone (MEZ 2) estates.
During the first job fair this year in February, around 146 individuals were hired on the spot.
About 9.25 percent of the total 1,578 job openings offered by 27 companies were filled up on that day. (MKG)
