A GRADUATE of Cebu Doctors’ University topped the Pharmacist Licensure Exam held on April 10-11, 2023.
The Professional Regulation Commission released the complete list of passers on Friday, April 14, with Lyndale Gallardo ranking first with a 93.55 percent rating.
Gallardo said that topping the board did not cross her mind while preparing. Her ultimate goal was to pass the exam and become a licensed pharmacist.
“I made it clear to myself that I would never be complacent and that I must give 110 percent of my efforts to pass the exam. Even if I did fail, I know I can learn from the experience and try again next time. Pass or fail, I am a winner. Board placer or not, I am a winner,” Gallardo said.
She knew she had to give it her all, but she would not let the results define her.
“I felt a sense of impending doom during the days leading up to the boards. I felt the anxiety and fear as any board exam taker would. There were some days when I could not review effectively because of this,” Gallardo shared.
She advised exam takers to get enough sleep while reviewing, not to force themselves to memorize all information about drugs and to be interested in and appreciate every module.
A total of 1,420 out of 2,275 passed the exam given by the Board of Pharmacy in different cities across the country, including Cebu.
Southwestern University Phinma ranked sixth in the top performing schools with a rating of 80.49 percent.
Gallardo dedicated her achievement to God, her family, friends, CDU faculty and staff and all those who were involved in her journey to become a licensed pharmacist.
