THE Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) will coordinate with the Police Regional Office Central Visayas (PRO 7) regarding the Degamo investigation after one of their personnel, Tabuelan Municipal Police Station officer-in-charge Captain Allen Germodo, was linked to the family of Negros Oriental third district Representative Arnolfo Teves Jr.

In a Senate hearing on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, one of the witnesses alleged that Captain Germodo was in charge of collecting the income from e-sabong and small town lottery (STL) allegedly owned by the Teveses.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Mark Gifter Sucalit, deputy director for operations of CPPO, that Germodo was formerly assigned at the Oslob Municipal Police Station on October 12, 2022 as deputy officer.

But on March 21, 2023, he was transferred to Tabuelan Police Station.

Sucalit noted that because they were not aware of Germodo's alleged involvement with the Teveses and because the incident falls outside of their area of jurisdiction, they would work with the regional headquarters and the Special Investigative Task Group Degamo.

Sucalit said that they were surprised upon learning that one of their personnel was involved in the controversy.

The late Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo was shot to death on March 4 in his residential compound in Pamplona town while he was meeting with his constituents.

The brutal incident also left eight civilians dead and 17 others injured.

Congressman Teves was tagged as mastermind in the killing of the governor and the innocent civilians, according to the statement of the suspects in a media interview in Manila. (AYB, TPT)
