“DON'T dare me!”
This was the stern warning of Bacolod City Acting Director Colonel Noel Aliño to all the personnel of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) who will be found positive for illegal drug use.
Aliño said Thursday, April 20, that they are only waiting for the result of the drug test of the 43 Police Commissioned Officers following the mandatory drug test on Wednesday, April 18.
He said the result is expected to be released Friday, April 21.
“Though the result is still subject to confirmatory examinations, those who will be found positive for illegal use will be placed in restriction and will be directed to surrender their issued firearm, badge and identification card,” he added.
Aliño noted that on Wednesday morning, he gathered all the police officials for the mandatory drug test.
“It’s a surprise drug test because we want to make sure that our police are not involved in illegal drug activities,” Aliño said.
He said he will not allow his men to engage in illegal drug activities.
“If they are involved, they should resign or request for a reassignment because I will not allow it here. It's an unforgiving action and I am serious about filing a case against them,” he said.
He added that the wrongdoing of the police will only destroy all the good works of the BCPO.
After the PCOs, all the Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) will also undergo the drug test.
Aliño said he is hopeful that all his personnel will be tested negative for illegal drugs.*
