THE Philippine Red Cross Negros Occidental-Bacolod City Chapter bagged two Chapter Awards during the PRC 33rd Biennial National Convention held at The Manila Hotel on April 17 to 19, 2023.
The said awards were the Outstanding Chapter on Membership Generation for the year 2021 -2022 and Best Performing Chapter Nationwide for Class A Category 2021-2022.
Vice-Chairman Roberto “Bobby” Montelibano was awarded the Diploma of the Aurora Aragon Quezon Medal.
The medal honors the memory of the late Doña Aurora Aragon Quezon who, in selflessness and devotion to duty as the First Chairman of the Independent Philippine Red Cross, personified the true spirit of the Red Cross in the Philippines.
The medal is only presented to the Board of Governors of the Philippine Red Cross only to volunteers who have distinguished themselves by their exceptional dedication to the cause of the Red Cross in the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Sum-ag National High School received the Most Outstanding Red Cross Youth Council Award for 2022 competing against thousands of chapter youth councils all over the Philippines.
They are represented by Humphrey Miles and Jurianne Robert Ga who received their award from ing from Sen. Richard Gordon & Secretary General Gwen Pang.
Accompanying them are the Bacolod City Chapter board of directors led by chairman Carlos Ganihong with Caesar Distrito (RCY Chair), Montelibano, school principal Warlito Rosareal, and chapter administrator Bennet Mirasol.
Bacolod City Chapter chair Carlos Ganihong said, "Your local Philippine Red Cross chapter is working very hard in alleviating suffering and uplifting human dignity in partnership with all of you. These awards testify our dedication to humanitarian activities.”
