REPRESENTATIVES Paolo Z. Duterte and Maria Carmen Zamora topped the Performing District Representative Survey in Davao Region by the RP-Mission Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD).

Davao City First District Rep. Duterte received 81.3 percent of the vote, while Davao de Oro First District Rep. Zamora received 80.5 percent. Both were declared first placers in the survey.

RPMD said Davao City Third District Rep. Isidro T. Ungab places second, receiving 77.6 percent of the vote, followed by Davao Occidentals lone district representative Claude Bautista (73.5 percent), Davao del Sur's also lone district representative John Tracy Cagas (70.3 percent), Davao Oriental 2nd District Representative Cheeno Miguel Almario (70.5 percent), and Davao del Norte's 1st District Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez (70.9 percent).

Meanwhile, Davao Oriental 1st District Rep. Nelson Dayanghirang received 68.2 percent, followed by Davao City's 2nd District Rep. Vincent Garcia (67.4 percent), 2nd District Rep. Alan Dujali of Davao del Norte (67.2 percent), 2nd District Ruwel Peter Gonzaga of Davao de Oro with 65.3 percent.

The foundation said that they have evaluated the effectiveness of Davao Region district representatives based on three critical parameters: district representation, legislation, and constituent service.

Firstly, district representation refers to how effectively the representative addresses their constituents' concerns and needs. This parameter assesses the representative's ability to be responsive and proactive in addressing issues related to their district. the agency said.

Aside from that, RPMD said that they have also assessed the representative's effectiveness based on the results of their legislative efforts. This indicator takes into account the representative's contribution to introducing and passing legislation that benefits the people they represent and the community they serve.

When it comes to constituent service, RPMD said it refers to how well the representative can assist their constituents in accessing government services and programs. This parameter evaluates the representative's responsiveness and effectiveness in helping their constituents in matters related to government services, such as health care, education, and social welfare.

It is crucial to assess the performance of district representatives regularly, as they play a vital role in ensuring that the needs and concerns of their constituents are addressed. By evaluating their performance, we can determine if they are fulfilling their duties and responsibilities to the best of their abilities, RPMD said.
