Lazatin bros lead rites for health centers

ANGELES CITY— Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., and his brother, Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, led the groundbreaking for three existing health centers here which will be converted into Primary Care Facilities.

The Lazatin brothers together with Dr. Eric Yumul of Department of Health Region III, Councilors Atty. Arvin Suller, JC Parker-Aguas, Marino Bañola, Alexander Indiongco, and Edu Pamintuan were joined by leaders and residents of barangays Pulungbulu, Capaya, and Tabun during the ceremonies.

Also present during the groundbreaking rites were Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Congressman Jon’s Chief-of-Staff Janie Sarmiento, Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles, Angeles City Tourism Auxiliary Head Michael Lising, City Health Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra, City Engineer Donato Dizon, City Planning and Development Officer Engr. Nilda Quito, Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Rudy Simeon, and Barangay Captains Rafael Bondoc of Capaya, Bernardo Santos of Pulungbulu and Alma Mercado of Tabun.

The groundbreaking for the eight remaining centers in Sapangbato, Anunas, Amsic, Malabanias, Balibago, Pulung Maragul, and Cutud will follow suit until May 3, 2023.

“With this initiative to construct, repair and improve our existing health centers, we will be bringing medical services closer to our kababayans who will be needing medical attention. We aim to provide for a more accessible and of course free health services to Angeleños,” Mayor Lazatin said.

Mayor Lazatin vowed during his inauguration speech in 2022 to rehabilitate all existing six Rural Health Units and 28 sub-health centers.

Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel in a meeting on April 17, 2023, laid down Lazatin’s instruction to immediately conduct groundbreaking ceremonies.

These will signal the start of the construction works for the said health facilities.
